The weekend of 14-15 November 09 was cool and very clear-a respite break after multiple days of rain from the remnants of tropical storm Ida, yet unseasonably warm with day temperatures of near 70 Deg.F and overnight lows hovering around freezing.

If you look carefully in several of these photos you will see the Charlotte, NC skyline, 85 miles away. The photos that show Charlotte were shot with an 80-200/f2.8 DA* Zoom on a Pentax K10D digital SLR.

Normally you need temperatures in the single digits to teens Deg. F to get the air clear enough to see Charlotte. On this rare morning it was 34 Deg F at sunrise - a relative "balmy" temperature to get these shots.
