Sunrise with Flying Saucer Clouds
I am actually facing to the southwest in this photo. The weather was changing this day, after a few afternoons of rainstorms, and these clouds were forming from the clouds pouring down off the top of Grandfather Mountain (out of frame to my right). I believe these may be lenticular clouds as the winds were blowing at 40-50 Mph where I was standing and surely higher at the altitude of the clouds. They flying saucer cloud shape is one of the forms that lenticular clouds take.
NOTE: Ordering is disabled on this print because I need to do some digital noise removal as this was shot at ISO 1600. Will update the photo and enable ordering when done.
